15 State Attorney Generals are Suing HUD. Why?

Hello Reader,

Join the High-Performance Homes Team today at 2:00 pm ET to learn why fifteen state attorneys generals and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), have sued the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The lawsuit, filed in January, calls out the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ASHRAE 90.1-2019 as the minimum energy-efficiency standards for certain single-family and multifamily housing programs and claims these codes were implemented unconstitutionally.

This month, Thomas Ward, NAHB’s Vice President of Litigation & Legal Services, will officially join the team. Additionally, Jessica Lynch, NAHB’s Vice President of Housing Finance, may be on board. Thomas and Jessica have volunteered to answer questions and share the plaintiff's story.

The HPHT is now part of the Tuesday at 2:00 Webinar Series!
