ARDA 2026 is live – submit now and meet judge George Zhang

ARDA 2026 is officially live, and we’re now accepting submissions for this year’s awards. If you or your firm are doing outstanding work in residential design, this is your opportunity to gain international recognition, connect with peers, and showcase your projects on a global stage.

As we open the call for entries, we’re also excited to introduce one of our distinguished judges, George Zhang. George is a member of the Real Estate Investments team at the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) of Texas, which manages a $30 billion global real estate portfolio within TRS, the United States’ 6th largest pension fund with $200 billion in assets serving more than 2 million members. He also serves on the Publications Committee at the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), where he helps guide the strategy and content for the “PREA Quarterly” publication.

Prior to joining TRS, George built a decade-long career across leading public- and private-sector firms in design, real estate, and media around the world, including Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), Gensler, and Kengo Kuma & Associates. He has also contributed to and edited for prominent publications such as ArchDaily, The Architect’s Newspaper, and JA+U (Japan Architecture + Urbanism).

George received his Master’s degree from Harvard University, where he was awarded the Ferdinand Colleredo-Mansfeld Prize for superior achievement in real estate studies. He was recently named a John W. Koza Leadership Fellow by the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), recognizing up-and-coming leaders in the institutional investor community, and has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Institutional Investor Magazine and a “Top Professional” by Commercial Observer Magazine.

We’re honored to have George bring his expertise and perspective to the ARDA 2026 judging panel, and we can’t wait to see the work you choose to submit this year.
