Volunteer to Serve on AIBD's Certification Board

The election is July 31, 2025, in Asheville, NC.

The National Council of Building Designer Certification (NCBDC) is part of the American Institute of Building Design and manages the Institute’s professional certification program.

Right now, the Council is running with just nine members, and it could really use your help!

Three More Weeks to Enter the American Residential Design Awards​

Entries are due June 9, 2025

"ARDA" is the AIBD’s premier award program exhibiting design excellence in the residential building industry.

It spotlights the nation’s most creative and innovative residential designers, builders, remodelers, architects, developers, land planners, and interior designers.

Flat Custom Home Building Trends

NAHB’s analysis of Census Data from the Quarterly Starts and Completions by Purpose and Design survey indicates flat year-over year growth for custom home builders. The custom building market is less sensitive to the interest rate cycle than other forms of home building but is more sensitive to changes in household wealth and stock prices.

Couple Sues Teton County, Calls $24,000 Homebuilding Fee ‘Extortion’

The couple seeks a favorable interpretation of the law, a halt to Teton County’s (Wyoming) exaction of “affordable workforce housing” fees, and monetary relief from what it calls the county’s “extortionate” land development regulations.
