Is it Time to Become an Employee Again?

After working for myself for 25 years, except for a short time teaching during the 2008 recession, a design-build firm reached out to me.

They were looking for someone with my skill set.

I talked it over with my wife and a couple of close friends, and in the end I took the job.

In this session, I will share how this happened and how you might be facing the same chance.

Our speaker, Joey Martin, is the Senior Project Coordinator at Nicholas Design Build. He is a well-known designer with over 10 ARDA awards and nearly 30 years of experience in design and building. Joey still runs his own home design business along with his job at Nicholas Design Build.
We hope you’ll join the conversation and find tips that can help if you’re thinking about making a change like this.

Coffee with Bernie—Using QR Codes on Construction Drawings
(1.0 P3 CE)
Cost: $25 (Free for AIBD Members)
Traditional construction drawings often result in lost information and confusion on the job site.
This can lead to costly mistakes, downtime, and frustration for project teams. QR codes connect paper plans to digital resources instantly, bridging the information gap. With a simple scan, workers can access up-to-date documents, instructions, or models right from the field. Integrating QR codes into your drawings streamlines communication and keeps every team member aligned.

The rest of this month can be seen at AIBD.org/webinars.
