Design & Build San Antonio - Virtual and In-Person Tickets are available. So are hotel rooms if you're still thinking about coming.

Attending D&B San Antonio online might be more convenient and less expensive, but nothing affects your career like meeting with other professionals in person. The AIBD room block has closed, but hotel rooms are still available at or around $219/night.

Before finishing school this past semester, students at Tulane University completed one final project. They designed, created, and built a tiny 440-square-foot home to benefit someone in their community who hasn't had a place to call home in nearly two decades.

Recent Committee Activities

Introducing Design & Build Asheville (Jul 31 - Aug 2, 2025)

The Conference Committee approved the contract for the Crowne Plaza Resort Asheville to host the AIBD 2025 Summer Design & Build Conference. The board of directors agreed and ratified the agreement at their recent monthly meeting. Featuring indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, and access to a 9-hole golf course, this site is situated amongst a unique mix of outdoor recreation, amazing restaurants/breweries, and a robust art/music scene. Biltmore Estate, America's largest private residence, is a few minutes away. Plus, the Blue Ridge Parkway provides scenic drives, hiking, and epic sunsets.

Volunteer for a Committee

The 2024-2025 AIBD Board of Directors formally began their terms at the June meeting. Many new board members chose to lead a committee (or two), and now they're seeking your participation. Check out the opportunities and let them know you're interested.

Have a triumphant week.

If you ask AIBD members why they keep coming back to the Annual Conference (Design+Build Cleveland), they’ll tell you the same thing: it’s the one time each year they’re truly surrounded by people who “get” what they do. From the Compass Club kickoff at Progressive Field to the D+B Expo Happy Hour and Friday’s “Dine Around Cleveland,” every moment is designed to help you reconnect with old friends, meet new collaborators, and plug into a national community of residential designers and...

Every first Friday, AIBD members get something you don’t. They log in, drop their toughest project problems on the table, and walk away with real answers — from real AEC professionals who’ve been exactly where they are. No Google rabbit holes. No expensive consultants. No guesswork. You? You’re still figuring it out alone. That gap between where you are and where AIBD members are? It widens every single month. While you’re grinding through code interpretations, client disputes, and business...

You know how it feels when the phones are not ringing as much. Projects wrap up, new leads slow down, and suddenly every client is looking harder at who they bring onto the team. In those moments, it is not just about who does good work. It is about who has visible proof. When the market tightens, the designers with clear, third‑party credentials float to the top of the shortlist. They are the ones who can say “award winning,” point to national recognition, and show that their work has been...
