Need CAD, 3D or Rendering Support?Building designers often need additional production support—whether it’s CAD drafting, 3D modeling, rendering, or documentation—but finding someone with the right technical skills, software experience, and availability can take time. That’s why I created interiAssist, a specialized platform connecting building and design professionals with Design Support Professionals offering CAD drafting, 3D modeling, rendering, documentation, and related production support. Firms can browse the directory and filter professionals by services, software proficiency, and time zone, or post opportunities when they need project-based or ongoing help. We’re also developing badge pathways and practical resources to help support professionals demonstrate their skills and continue developing within the industry. Free During BetainteriAssist is currently free to join and use during beta, and our growing community already includes more than 200 Design Support Professionals and 65 employers/design firms. AIBD members are welcome on both sides of the platform. If you’re looking for additional production support, you can browse the directory or post an opportunity. And if you provide CAD, 3D modeling, rendering, drafting, or other design-support services, you’re also welcome to create a profile and be listed in the directory. From residential drafting and visualization to documentation and production assistance, interiAssist is built to support direct, global collaboration between design firms and skilled professionals. A Little About MeI’m Shanthi O’Connell, and my background is in interior design and interior architecture. I hold a BA (Hons) in Interior Design from Staffordshire University/National Design Academy and a Master of Science in Interior Architecture from Boston Architectural College. For more than nine years, I’ve worked on the technical and visualization side of the industry. Through my firm, 3D Interior Render Studio, I work with architects, interior designers, design firms, and homeowners, providing SketchUp modeling, photorealistic renderings, CAD drafting, SketchUp LayOut documentation, elevations, cabinetry and built-in drawings, exterior modeling, and other production support. I oversee a small team of 3D artists and drafters, allowing us to support a range of residential and design projects. I’ve also been teaching SketchUp for more than seven years. My experience working within this side of the design industry gave me a firsthand understanding of the challenges firms face when trying to find skilled professionals with the right software knowledge and technical experience. That ultimately led me to create interiAssist—a dedicated place for design professionals and Design Support Professionals to find and connect with one another.
