That’s exactly what AIBD’s live sessions are for. But we get a lot of members asking us the same thing: “What’s the actual difference between Office Hours, Roundtables, and Webinars?” Fair question — so here’s the breakdown.

AIBD Office Hour: The most laid-back option on the list. Held the first Friday of every month at 11:00 AM ET, it’s a free, members-only virtual meetup where you can drop in, ask whatever’s on your mind, and hear how other designers are handling the same headaches. No agenda, no slides, no pressure to have a polished question ready. You can submit a question ahead of time (anonymously if you want), jump in live, or just listen and add your perspective when something clicks. No product pitches, no one talking at you for 45 minutes. It’s peer-to-peer, and it earns you 1.0 Elective CEU.

Roundtables: If Office Hour is a casual conversation, Roundtables are the deeper version — small, interactive sessions built around real problems designers are facing: tricky clients, business decisions, design dilemmas, burnout, growth. Slight agenda decided ahead of time, and a more structured than Office Hour, however it's still not an individual or company doing a presentation you sit and watch. Participation is encouraged.

Webinars: This is your more traditional CE format — an expert walks through a topic in depth, you learn something concrete, and you can ask questions. Great when you want structured, focused education on a specific subject without needing to contribute in real time. CE's awarded; domain depending on topic.

None of these are better than the others — they just serve different moments. Some days you want to vent and troubleshoot with peers. Other days you want someone to just teach you the thing. AIBD built all three so you’re covered either way.
