Your best work deserves more than staying invisible

If it’s not in ARDA, it’s invisible to the people who matter most to your future clients.

Right now, your best projects may live in a folder on your server, on a few social posts, and in the memories of a handful of grateful clients. But outside your local circle, no one knows just how strong your work really is. ARDA is where residential building designers step out of the shadows and onto a national stage.

Every year, designers just like you use the American Residential Design Awards to prove what they can do. They become “award winning” in their bios. Their projects are recognized by peers. Their names show up in places where clients and collaborators look for talent. When prospects compare “Designer A” to “ARDA award winning Designer B,” you already know who has the edge.

The hard truth is simple. If your work is not in ARDA, it is easy to overlook. It is easy to pass by in a search result, an RFP stack, or a shortlist of firms. Meanwhile, other designers are submitting, getting recognized, and using that recognition for the next 12 months and beyond.

This year, that does not have to be your story.

The 2026 American Residential Design Awards are open for entries now. Categories are ready for the work you are already doing: custom homes, renovations, production housing, outdoor living, detached multi dwellings, and more. You are not starting from scratch. You are simply taking the projects you already completed and making sure they are seen.

We also know the first objection that comes up: time.

That is why the ARDA entry platform is built to save as you go. Once you start your entry, you can log in, add details, upload drawings and photos, and refine your submittal over time. You do not need to finish everything in one long session. Today’s goal is not perfection. Today’s goal is to begin.

Here is a simple way to move from invisible to visible:

  1. Pick one project you are proud of that fits an ARDA category
  2. Click the ARDA entry link and create your account or log in
  3. Spend 10 to 15 minutes getting the basics in place

When you're ready, come back later to polish your descriptions and add more images

That one small start turns into something real. A submitted entry. A chance at recognition. A piece of proof you can point to whenever someone asks what you are capable of.

ARDA comes once a year. When this deadline passes, that chance is gone until next year. And another year of great work risks staying invisible outside your local market.

Your work is too strong to be unseen.

If it is not in ARDA, it is invisible.

Start your entry today and make sure that is not the case this year.

Looking forward to your entries,
The AIBD ARDA Committee

P.S. If you have ever said “I’ll enter next year,” you know how quickly those years stack up. Let this be the year you finally raise your hand and say, “Look at what we are creating.” Register now.
