I’d like to show you what we’re building for AIBD Members

I’ve been working on a new members-only community inside AIBD.org. Residential designers regularly need advice that cannot be found in a manual or downloaded from a resource library. Sometimes you need to ask another designer how they handled a difficult detail, talk through a client or business problem, find someone to collaborate with, or simply see what other people in the profession are working on. That is what we are building for AIBD Members. I had help from a review panel made up of AIBD Members and Board Members. They walked through the experience with me, identified things that were confusing, and suggested the kinds of conversations and features that would make the community useful to working residential designers. AIBD Members can now:
I’ve also redesigned the AIBD Membership Account page, giving members a clearer place to manage their membership and find their profile, education and CEU information, member resources, and community activity. During this Friday’s Office Hour, I’ll provide a video walkthrough of the new community and redesigned Membership Account page. I’ll explain what we have added, show how the different parts work, and answer questions about the changes. These additions are only the beginning. As members log in and use the community, I’ll continue adjusting the organization, navigation, and overall experience based on what people actually find helpful. The community is available exclusively to AIBD Members. Join AIBD to participate in the conversations, connect with other residential design professionals, and help shape what this community becomes.
