Hello Reader, Steve and I (Garrett, Communications Director) are back in the office after last week's Design+Build Asheville conference. I can't speak for Steve, but I'm pretty exhausted. So, I'm being lazy with this email. Not "have AI write the whole thing for me and call it a day" lazy. There's a rule in copywriting: you should only ever speak to one audience at a time. That means you can only really tailor your words to one person at a time. Trying to craft sales copy for both homeowners and builders at once doesn't appeal to either group. In this email, I'm breaking my rule by addressing two very different types of people, selling them the same thing. The two types of people:
There was a lot of talk in Asheville about hiring. Many folks are ready to expand their firms and begin hiring, but they don't really know where to look. Of course, there are the general places we know: Monster, Indeed, LinkedIn. But those aren't laser-focused on our industry. AIBD has a job board that is. The AIBD Job Board isn’t just another generic job site—it's a platform built specifically for building design professionals. By posting or searching for jobs there, you’re connecting with a community that truly understands our industry's unique challenges and standards. It's also full of resources. For those seeking a job, you can get help with resume writing and even interview coaching. Those looking to hire can access information, like how to effectively interview. The resources are free; there's even a free resume review. Take a look at the job board and resources. Whether you’re ready to hire or looking for your next role, we’ve got something for you. Check it out here: Hope you find your next job or your next hire, P.S. It turns out writing this email was harder than writing two emails: one for job posters and one for job seekers. It almost physically pained me to type "Hope you find your next job or your next hire." Regardless, Jobs.AIBD.org is actually for both employers and those looking for employment. So, this email goes to both of you. |

Hello Reader, Congrats on surviving Monday and crushing Tuesday. Now Wednesday beckons you to take a break and celebrate this week's Midweek Vibe! They're like a powder room for the kitchen. Once associated with Victorian-era homes, sculleries keep the mess of the kitchen hidden. Above is the scullery in the Marble House, one of the Newport, RI, mansions the AIBD toured during a past Design+Build Conference. That's when I learned about the word scullery. In the past, those working in a...
