This Week in the AIBD Community

Welcome to the first edition of This Week in the AIBD Community! Each week, we’ll highlight conversations you might have missed and invite you to bring your own experience to the discussion.

You don’t need a polished answer or a big announcement to participate. A question, a recommendation, or a quick “here’s what worked for me” is a great place to start.

Find a conversation and jump in

  • What belongs on a designer’s bookshelf? Architectural mysteries, design principles, and books that change how you approach your work are finding their way onto the AIBD Book Club’s growing reading list. Add a favorite, weigh in on a recommendation, or find your next read.
  • What is AI actually doing for your business? Members are digging into real workflows and new possibilities, from daily planning and client information to the paperwork that holds up billing, in our practical AI conversation. Share what’s working, what hasn’t, or the task you wish someone could help you simplify.
  • What’s your “how did I work without this?” tool? The Watercooler’s tool-sharing thread has sparked ideas about project management and keeping the workday organized. Your contribution doesn’t have to involve AI or even software. What small tool or habit deserves a recommendation?
  • Meet the people behind the plans. Members are sharing their specialties, the paths that brought them into design, and what they hope to find in the community introductions. Tell us a little about yourself, welcome a fellow member, or connect over a shared interest.
  • Where does your workday really go? In “Start with tracking,” Dennis Fletcher shares how a simple habit changed his understanding of project time and pricing. Do you track your time even when you charge a flat fee? Bring your system, your questions, or the lesson you learned the hard way.

Have something else on your mind? Log in and start a conversation in the AIBD Community. Your question could be the one another designer has been meaning to ask.

The AIBD Community is a members-only space to exchange ideas, ask questions, and connect with fellow building design professionals. If you’d like to participate in conversations like these, join AIBD and become part of the community.
