Your Expertise Needed for the AIBD Job Task Analysis Survey

Dear AIBD Community,

We are inviting you to participate in the review of our Certified Professional Building Designer® (CPBD™) Job Analysis survey.

You don't have to be certified to participate.

This survey aims to pinpoint and validate the tasks performed and the crucial knowledge and skills required by building design professionals. The feedback gathered will enable AIBD to ensure that our certification accurately reflects current practices within the building design industry.

This survey has been carefully crafted and revised by a Task Force of practicing building design professionals during a meeting held in August 2023. As such, your input will be invaluable in refining the job analysis and painting a more accurate picture of the tasks, knowledge, and skills needed in our profession.

Please note that reviewing the survey may take up to an hour, but your contributions will have a lasting impact on our profession.

An added feature of the online survey is the ability to leave comments in text boxes regarding any potentially missing Task or Knowledge statements. We encourage you to utilize this opportunity to share your unique insights.

We have collaborated with the Assessment, Education, and Research Experts (AERE), a third-party consultant, to conduct this survey. Should you have any queries or need any clarifications about the survey, please contact them at survey@aerexperts.com with the subject line "AIBD."

But that's not all! To show our appreciation for your time and effort, we have some exciting incentives lined up:

  • Everyone gets a complimentary E-Book and webinar: When you complete the survey, you will be directed to a webpage to access the e-book "Architecture of Traditional Neighborhoods" by Fernando Pages and his 80-minute webinar titled "Keeping Tradition Alive - Defining Community Style Rather Than Imposing Your Style Upon It," to accompany it.
  • Weekly Raffles: Each Friday throughout the survey period, we will be raffling off an exclusive AIBD Tagline Fleece Hoodie. This item is not available for purchase anywhere, so don't miss out on this opportunity! The sooner you complete the survey, the more chances you have to win.

Your participation in this survey will help shape the future of our industry, and we are sincerely grateful for your time and expertise.

Thank you for your continued support of the AIBD.

Best Regards,
The A-Team
